Up-and-coming wines from Moselle
The hillside vineyards skirting the River Moselle's banks in Val de Sierck-les-Bains, near Metz, and further south in Vic-sur-Seille, yield three grape varieties used to make fresh and floral wines. The finely-tannic reds and fruitier rosés are made from pinot noir. The fine, light whites are made from auxerrois and pinot gris.
Local winegrowers' longstanding efforts have earned AOC (certified origin) status and Moselle wines have become part of the fine dining scene today. You can enjoy them in every "Moselle Gourmande" fine restaurant and with winegrowers, who will be delighted to treat you to their wares.
